September 30, 2009

What's up?

This month has been a very busy time for us, which is good for you, because now you have some exceptional merchandise to choose from, including Collector Dolls, handcrafted Cute-as-a-Button Earrings, new Designer Career Fashions, new Lenox and Royal Doulton China, and lest we forget to mention Bug-O-Doodles! Prices on these items are as always unbelievably low and the reason I know this is because I research almost every single price on the site. Sometimes I have to wing it, other times we ask what the consignee wants, and for sure you'll have to search long and hard to find an item cheaper.

Since we're on the subject of price; you are aware we still have our Name Your Price Sale, right? Actually, I think our Layaway program combined with the Name Your Price Sale are two great tools for anyone looking to save money.

Our $4.95 Shipping Special is ending on October 31, 2009. Between now and then would be a good time to take advantage of the lower rate.

Here are samples of some of the new - as in NEW - items we've added during the month:

Max Studio skirt-see matching Top

Royal Doulton Atlanta (Retired), 5 pc place setting-All sold

Guess watch,  authentic, new, original Guess packaging

The following items are like new, with having only been used for display purposes.

Ashton Drake Galleries, Baby's First tooth by Yolanda Bello, boy and girl twin baby dolls

Rare and limited edition Dreamsicle collector plate.  Includes stand, like new

Willow Tree figurines, Family portrait, family of four. Perfect condition

And finally we'd like you to see the handmade creations currently on the site:

Under our Spot Light

Under our Spot Light is a new section where I introduce someone special. This time it is my honor and privilege to introduce you to KoloBagsKolobags is the one-stop shop for everyone looking for technology fashion without compromising on style. The online boutique (www.kolobags.com) offers the widest array of designer laptop bags, specialty bags and technology accessories available both on-and off-line and there is something for all price ranges. Although the concept was formed to offer women something more than the basic, bulky laptop bag, they've since grown into a site for all.  They now stock a selection of bags for men, as well as gym and even designer diaper bags and so much more!

In addition to the bags, Style Advice  is available on their web site. So really why not stop by the site and have some fun browsing through all the various choices for bags.  And there are many!

Something to think about:

I received an email from a friend this morning that has probably been forwarded half way across the country by now. Still, I decided the message is important enough to share with you.

Getting Ready for Halloween

Yea! We have Halloween decorations this year! I think it's been at least 3 years since we've had anything Halloweenish on the site, so this is a real treat for us.

Department 56 - The Krinkles Witchy Mama Cat

Department 56 Halloween tea light holder

Department 56 Votive Candle holder. Add a ghastly glow to your Halloween decor with this colorful candleholder

Speaking of treats, and I did up above, here's a recipe I found on the Hershey's web site that just sounded too good to ignore. If you're planning a Halloween party or love making treats for the kids, you'll enjoy this site. The sound effects will creep you out though!

Chocolate-Peanut Butter Coated Apples
Ingredients
•10 to 12 wooden popsicle sticks
•10 to 12 medium apples, stems removed
•1-2/3 cups (10-oz. pkg.) REESE'S Peanut Butter Chips
•1/2 cup vegetable oil
•2/3 cup powdered sugar
•2/3 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa
•MOUNDS Sweetened Coconut Flakes or chopped REESE'S Peanut Butter Chips (optional)
Directions
1. Insert wooden stick into each washed and dried apple. Cover tray with wax paper.

2. Stir together peanut butter chips and oil in medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at MEDIUM (50%) 1-1/2 minutes or until chips are softened. Stir until melted. If necessary, microwave at MEDIUM an additional 15 seconds at a time, stirring after each heating, just until chips are melted when stirred.

3.Stir together powdered sugar and cocoa; gradually add to melted chip mixture, stirring until smooth. Microwave at HIGH 1 minute or until very warm.

4. Dip apples in mixture; twirl to remove excess coating. (If coating becomes too thick, return to microwave for a few seconds or add additional oil 1 teaspoon at a time.) Roll lower half of coated apple in coconut or chopped chips, if desired. Allow to cool on prepared tray. Refrigerate, if desired. 10 to 12 apples.

And with that, I will close this edition of our newsletter.  Oh and check out the items below before you go. Thank you!
