Once in a Blue Moon Online Thrift Store Blog Amazon Store

June 29, 2009

I'm not starting this newsletter with the next fashion segment as planned because I have some great news for you!

We've reduced our shipping rates to $2.95 for the whole month of July. That's 31 days of savings!  It doesn't matter how big or how small the order is you'll pay just $2.95 for shipping. Just think about it: That's a $4.50 savings on a $25.00 order. Or another way to put it; it's a 60% discount! And of course, the savings goes up as the order amount increases. So in effect, it's really Christmas in July around here.

You know, it's going to be Back to School before you know it and if you prepare now while the sale is going on, you'll save a ton of money. From head to toe, we've got your school age daughter covered!

A complete outfit for only $13.45! Add a warm denim jacket for $7.00 and you've still only spent $20.45 with shipping. Now you might think you don't want to spend $20.00 on one outfit. And you're right why do it when money is so tight? But you're really not spending it on only one outfit because the pants can be worn with other tops, the top can be worn with other pants, and the shoes, well, they're shoes! Same thing with the jacket. So essentially you have several outfits with just the one $20.45 purchase. (Pant size 10, top size M, shoe size 1, jacket size 10/12. All items chosen are in Like New condition)

Now do you want some even better news? You can Layaway the $20.45 outfit! School starts in a couple of months so you would probably want to go with the two payment plan of $10.20 down and $10.25 in 30 days. And if you prefer you can make weekly payments.

There are a lot of great buys in our Children's Clothes category, so you don't have to settle on my choices for an outfit. In fact, the entire site is packed full of great deals so why not check it out and take advantage of the reduced shipping charges now.

Now to continue on with our segment on Fashion Trends fro 2009...

Fashion Trends for 2009

Jewelry ... This Season
Spring and Summer Jewelry trends

In 2009, jewelry is all about making a big statement. Be it with a necklace, a bangle or a oh-so-big cocktail ring. From ethnic beading, to exotic stones, to avant garde pieces, the one thing is constant: it must be big and bold, and colorful...

The photo to the right is a necklace I found that seems to match the criteria of the above statement and the photo to the left is of a pin/pendant on our site that I think would be just as cute if attached to a choker and do I have to say it? Cheaper too!

Nature Calls...
Lots of emphasis on natural colors. Also materials such as stone and wood are big this season in jewelry. The natural feels are a organic and botanical looking beads is a big trend especially in pendants.
Bold and Big - a must in Jewelry this season
Large stones, gemstones and seed beads are still front runners, "over the top in size". Natural gem stone jewelry pieces are kept big and bold just as last spring.
Pendants, Charms and Single Stones
Is one better than multiple? Single large stones that hang in a pendant configuration are in .... Women will be wearing bright and somewhat larger charm bracelets, and necklaces this season .
What's Up With Colors!
Natural to bright - anything goes this spring. The bright colors of nature, think vibrant sunset or soft seascape.
Metals
There is always and always will be room for metals in beaded jewelry. In medals think sleek and modern designs. Look for an even mixed with natural materials like wood and stone beads mixed with medals. This season the medal piece's have taken on a more modern look.
Silver and Gold
Silver is as always hot! But this season gold is making a good comeback. You will see the two metals mixed , to create some wonderful jewelry piece's. Charms, pendants and larger jewelry beads are what what's seen on runways in the new spring lines.

The Perfect Bead Necklace
The perfect bead jewelry necklace for 2009 would be comprised of bright, colorful oversized beads that invoked nature in either their shape or color and the whole piece would be brought together with a tasteful silver and gold gemstone pendant hanging off the neck to bring it all together.
