What’s new this week?

In comparison to Air Force One buzzing Manhattan and causing massive panic, and just for a photo op, our news is pretty mundane. However, I’ll try to keep your interest: Did you happen to notice the head line above stated ‘What’s new this week?’ I chose that head line because it seems I can’t go longer than a week without making some sort of a change to how I do things. The latest thing and you may have noticed, is this is a newsletter and not an intro to my Blog. I will continue on with the blog, but I really do prefer the newsletter format better to get the ‘word’, whatever it may be, out there.

New Merchandise!

Over the weekend a huge consignment order arrived on our door step and instead of working on the items I intended on adding this week, we spent 3 days getting the consignment merchandise online. Now if you browse our Children’s Clothing Category and specifically the Girls section, you’ll think you’re shopping at Limited Too, which was recently taken over by Justice.  These items from Limited Too are all just like new- Seriously! Little Boys clothing and Women’s Clothing also received a boost from the consignment items. In total, sixty-one items were added. And we haven't forgotten about the other merchandise we still have to add and so will start on it in the next few days.

Describing our Merchandise!

I would like to make sure you all know what some of the terms mean that we use to describe an item on the site. The “Like New” term is used when the item shows little or no wear or tear. In other words, if the item still had the tags from the store attached, it couldn’t be any more “Like New” than the items describe on our site. The term Good Condition, generally means some wear and tear is noticeable, but the item is still in good basic condition. Any flaw the item might have is always noted within the description. There may be a few items still on the site where the term Excellent Condition was used. What that description means is that it’s in better condition than good, but perhaps not quite like new condition. We’ve gotten away from using Excellent Condition since we felt it didn’t really say enough. As we’re describing an item, we try to word it so that you can have a visual in your mind of the details. If at any time you need more information before making your decision, please feel free to contact us. cs@gone-tomorrow.com

Decorating for Less:

I’m going to continue on with a series on decorating ideas and styles that I started years. This week the article is about how to Get the Pottery Barn Look for Less by Kimberly Danger. I chose to use an article written by someone else this week.  You can read the entire article on my Blog.

Get the Pottery Barn Look for Less

by Kimberly Danger

I love the Pottery Barn. All those clean, sophisticated-yet-casual rooms look so refined. When I get the catalogs in the mail, I practically drool on the pages as I lust after the good life represented within. Surely the über-chic imaginary mom who lives there has her act together. She gives me hope that one day my life will be as organized and classy as hers. (Read the entire article)

Note: The photo in the Pottery Barn article has nothing to do with Pottery Barn. It’s actually a craft project any one of us can do on our own. I will include instructions in my Blog next week. Stay tuned!
